Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026 · Applies to Arcanum Apps and its apps, including AuraMe.

Draft for review. This policy has been prepared to reflect how AuraMe actually works, but it has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. Before publishing, confirm the details in [square brackets], make sure every contact inbox exists, and have it checked against UK GDPR, EU GDPR and CCPA — or run it through a reputable policy service (e.g. Termly, iubenda). Remove this note before going live.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Arcanum Apps (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you use our apps, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We’ve tried to write it in plain language.

1. Who we are

Arcanum Apps is an independent app studio operated by [legal name / sole trader name], based in [country/region]. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@arcanumapps.com.

For users in the UK/EU, the data controller is [legal name]. [If you appoint an EU/UK representative or DPO, name them here.]

2. Scope

This policy covers apps published by Arcanum Apps. Where an app collects data differently, the app-specific section below governs. Today that means AuraMe, our personalised astrology app. Future apps will be added here with their own sections.

3. Data we collect

Information you give us (AuraMe)

Information we collect automatically

Payment information

Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed via RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full card details — payment is handled by the app store and its processors. We receive confirmation of your subscription status only.

4. How we use your data

Our legal bases (UK/EU GDPR) are: performance of a contract (running the app you signed up for), consent (e.g. notifications, optional data, ads personalisation), legitimate interests (security and improvement), and legal obligation where applicable.

5. AI-generated readings

To write your reading, AuraMe sends the question you type, together with your derived astrological details (such as star sign and current planetary context), to our AI provider, Anthropic, which generates the text. This happens on our secure servers. We ask you not to include sensitive personal information (for example health details, financial account numbers, or others’ personal data) in your questions.

Astronomical data (moon phase, planetary positions) is retrieved from AstronomyAPI.com. This is general sky data and does not include your personal information.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the app, under contracts that require them to protect it:

ProviderPurposeData involved
Google Firebase (Google LLC)Authentication, database, cloud functions, analytics, notificationsAccount, profile, usage, journal
Anthropic (Claude API)Generating reading textYour question and derived astrological context
AstronomyAPI.comAstronomical dataNo personal data
RevenueCatSubscription managementPurchase/subscription status, app user ID
Google AdMobAds on the free tierAdvertising ID, device data

We may also disclose data if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

7. Where your data is stored

Our database and cloud functions are hosted in the United States (Google Cloud, multi-region). If you are outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US and other countries where our providers operate. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the providers’ Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your account and profile data while your account is active. Journal entries and reading history are kept until you delete them or delete your account. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within [e.g. 30] days, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal, tax or fraud-prevention obligations. Aggregated or anonymised data that no longer identifies you may be kept.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. UK/EU users may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete, correct, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” — we do not sell personal data.

To exercise any right, email hello@arcanumapps.com. We’ll respond within the time your law requires.

10. Deleting your account

You can delete your account and associated data at any time — in the app under Settings → Delete account, or by following the steps on our Delete your data page. This is a permanent action.

11. Children

AuraMe is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we’ll remove it.

12. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and storing secrets in a managed vault rather than in the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and update the date above; significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
